Ian MaineyRevd Ian Mainey - Vicar
I was brought up in Bootle,Liverpool but have spent most of my years since leaving school in other parts of the country, especially Cumbria where I was able to indulge in my love of walking.

One wife, two sons, one daughter, no pets (although my daughter would like us to keep hens). I enjoy reading and listening to music of all kinds, but especially classical music.

Have been in the ministry for well over twenty years. Before that - Civil Service (Inland Revenue), teaching, working with the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship.

My passion? Sharing the love of God with others and helping church members  to understand and apply Gods Word to their lives.

I have been working for St James' since April 2010 and can honestly say that I love my job working in the office! I spent 30+ years teaching Geography in independent schools in Liverpool and Lytham, so this was a big change but I love the variety that the job offers and it is good to be part of such a vibrant church as St James'. There is so much going on here, that no two days are ever the same.
 
As well as dealing with the service sheets and pewsheets for Sunday I also edit the Parish magazine and I am enjoying developing it as a means of communication. Members of the parish have been great supplying me with articles and I am sure there are more out there with something to say!
