Church Re-Opening Survey
As you may be aware the church building is now open for private prayer for one hour on a Sunday morning and one hour on a Wednesday early evening. The Government have now announced a further easing of the lockdown restrictions. Hence, as from the 5th July we are intending to hold a service of public worship in the church at 10.30am each Sunday.
The services will be very different to what we have been familiar with prior to lockdown. It is envisaged that they will follow a similar format to those that have been sent out each week by email. For the time being we are not able to hold a communion service but this may change as and when restrictions ease further and when we feel it is safe to do so.
The Church of England and the Liverpool Diocese have issued detailed guidelines for how churches should prepare their buildings for re-opening. This includes how they should conduct services to minimise the risk of spreading coronavirus and ensuring the safety of all those leading, taking part or attending church services.
We know that some of you are excited about the prospect of returning to church but we are also conscious that many will feel anxious or fearful about coming back. This questionnaire is intended to gauge opinions and help the vicar, wardens and PCC put the necessary plans and resources in place to move forward with the type of services that are most appropriate and manageable.
